Engine Questions / Engine Smoke

What causes white smoke after an excavator starts?

Direct answer first, practical checks second, one related JIAJUE link below. Exact fitment must be confirmed by serial number, old part label and photos.

Short answer

White smoke after start can come from unburned fuel, cold combustion, weak compression, injector problems or coolant entering the cylinder. If the smoke disappears after warm-up, the cause may be different from continuous white smoke.

What to check

  • Check coolant loss, fuel smell and engine temperature.
  • Inspect injector spray, compression and glow/intake heater operation where applicable.
  • Confirm engine model before ordering injectors or gasket-related parts.

Does black smoke mean the excavator injector is bad?

Not always. Black smoke means the engine is burning too much fuel or not getting enough air. A worn injector is one possible cause, but air filter blockage, turbo problems, boost leaks, fuel quality and overload should be checked before ordering injectors.
